Dr. Chanton is an expert on isotopic studies including natural abundance 14C and13C, 15N and 34S. He focuses on pore water chemistry and sediment water exchange. In addition, with Drs. Laura Lapham and Chris Martens he has worked to develop pore fluid arrays, devices powered by osmotic pumps, which allow for collection of time-series pore fluid data in deep-sea sites.
