Chasing down seeps in the Gulf of Mexico
Hugh Fargher, from Teledyne Marine Systems, joined ECOGIG in 2014 on the Pelican. He was on board to help the team set up, deploy and retrieve a new BIOGEOCHEM APEX float, produced by Teledyne Marine Systems. This float is a cost-effective platform for measuring water column properties with a high degree of spatial and temporal resolution and has been used by ECOGIG in the Gulf of Mexico several times since 2014. Hugh wrote a very nice, detailed description of his time on board, which you may read more about here.
