ECOGIG (Ecosystem Impacts of Oil and Gas Inputs to the Gulf) is a research consortium comprised of 29 academic researchers across 15 institutions. ECOGIG was originally funded through the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative after the 2019 Deepwater Horizon accident.
