Minnesota Public Radio's podcast Climate Cast, hosted by meteorologist Paul Huttner, shares the latest research on our changing climate. A recent podcast covers the ongoing methane leak at the Aliso Canyon natural gas storage facility in California, which has been called the Deepwater Horizon accident on land. The governor of California has recently declared a state of emergency in part of Los Angeles area where the methane leak has been pouring tons of methane gas (a very potent greenhouse gas) into the air for months. Paul Huttner spoke with Dr. Jeff Chanton from Florida State University about what makes methane so much more destructive than carbon dioxide. Listen to the entire podcast online here.
