Dr. Subramaniam’s expertise in the use of remote sensing and biogeochemical-optical tools to characterize oceanographic processes will be used to deploy and synthesize the data from autonomous profilers and water column measurements. He will use Excitation Emission Matrix measurements of fluorescence to rapidly identify and characterize hydrocarbons in the water column and on the sea floor as well as assess the impact of hydrocarbons on microbial processes.
