The inaugural 2016 Ocean Discovery Camp was a huge success- we had so much fun!! Our campers explored a number of ocean-themed topics through hands-on projects, crafts, games, videos & photo slideshows. The topics we visited at camp included the ways we explore the deep oceans, amazing deepwater ecosystems in our oceans, the arctic ocean ecosystem, sounds in the ocean & threats to our oceans such as plastic pollution, oil spills & climate change.
Ocean Discovery campers learned to build working mini ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) and test drove them- all ROVs built at camp were successfully operational!! The kits they used are available for purchase from Apogee Kits here.
Our campers also created stop motion videos based on some of the ocean topics we touched on throughout the camp- we had a creative bunch of campers who produced some amazing works of art! You may view them all here:
